How it works.

Three steps: see where to go, check the place, then tell the next person. These show real places in London today.

  1. The answer first.

    Open it and the first thing you read is where to go. Areas with seats come first, then the shortest walk. The circle counts the places in an area: 2/3 means two of three have seats.

  2. Then the place.

    A place can set the hours laptops are welcome and one rule, like “One order every 2 hours”. You see both before you walk over.

  3. Tell the next person.

    When you sit down, say how busy and how loud it is. Tap once for each. You can test the wifi too. This needs a free account: your email, no password.

Old updates look old.

A seat update is only as good as its age. It is shown in full for five minutes, then its text gets paler until it is 40 minutes old, and stays pale after that. The circle around it empties at the same speed.

So “Seats free” from two minutes ago looks certain, and “Seats free” from half an hour ago looks like what it is: old news. Paler text means an older update.

Updates come from people who say they are there, or from the place itself. Each one shows how old it is.
